Cath Anderson – Hd of Operations

Cath Anderson is the Head of Operations in the DPHT. She has a wide ranging role which includes management of Bellever where she is supported by Paul Pearse (Bellever Warden and Trustee) and Domnic Sheldon (Environmentalist and Trustee). Cath is responsible for manages the stocking levels on Bellever and liaison with pony keepers, provision of handling services, working with a variety of conservation trusts in the placement and care of conservation ponies, running education and training courses relating toconservation grazing and sales of Dartmoor Heritage Ponies.

On a day to day basis Cath works with the National Park,Forestry England, Natural England, the DPS and local Hunts. Cath sits on the Board of Trustees as an advisor and is the key member of the Operations Team.

Cath’s background is deeply rooted in Dartmoor, where she has cultivated a lifelong connection with these exceptional ponies. She studied Countryside Management and Conservation at Bicton College. She is also a British Horse Society coach and has a wealth of experience rehabilitating racehorses. Her training at Bicton College and her experience working at Shilstone Rocks Stud under the guidance of Elizabeth Newbolt-Young, who established the DPHT in 2004, have contributed significantly to her expertise.
