Special Resolution

Thank you for all those that voted on the Special Resolution to make changes to the DPHT Charity Objective. My apologies it has taken so long to publish but we have been awaiting confirmation from the Charity Commission that they were content with the vote, the process and the wording. This has recently been approved. We are now in the process of amending the Articles of Association as well as the Objective on the Charity Commission website. It was an unusually high turnout which is very encouraging to see so many members exercise their right. The wording of the Charity Objective is now:

“The objects are to protect and preserve as a population for the benefit of the public the
Dartmoor Heritage Pony native to Dartmoor and to promote such other charitable purposes as
the Trustees from time to time think fit.”

The wording changed has been to substitute “population” for “species” and “native ponies of Dartmoor” to “Dartmoor Heritage Pony native to Dartmoor”.
