Visit to Bellever by CEO HDH Wills Trust

Sarah Payne the CEO of HDH Wills Trust spent a morning with the Chairman (Michael Lithgow), Operational Manager (Cath Anderson), Bellever Warden and Trustee (Paul Pearse) and Dartmoor Guide (Geri Skeens). The Trust had recently awarded a grant to the DPHT to support their work with Heritage Ponies on Bellever, maintenance of this large enclosed site and provision of education for Key Stage 2 which is being developed under the National Lottery Heritage Fund Project. Sarah had the opportunity to see both the challenges faced by the DPHT in restoring this upland area and the positive impact that conservation grazing was having on the eco-system. The DPHT continues to work with the University of Plymouth to help guide its land management plan and to measure progress.
