Our moor bred ponies are loving animals. Becoming an owner means you also help preserve these increasingly rare animals in their natural landscape. You’re also buying a friend for life.

The heritage ponies that we sell are being sold on behalf of the Dartmoor Heritige Pony farmers and breeders on the moor with whom we work so closely.

How to buy a heritage Dartmoor pony 

It is very simple – just contact admin@dpht.co.uk with your name and contact details and one of our staff will contact you.

We will discuss with you what would like to use the pony for, any preference on age, preferred herd/breeder, charactersitics. We will then contact our experienced breeders and put you in touch with them once we have found a small selection of ponies that meet your needs.

We do advertise individual ponies that are for immediate sale below as they become available.

Buying through the DPHT ensures that you will owe a true Dartmoor Heritage Pony, born and bred on Dartmoor from one of our farmers and breeders who have custodianship of these rare multi-generational herds.
