Thank-you to Jacqueline Berg
A huge thank you to Jacqueline Berg and her late mother who very kindly donated £1,500.
“We are happy to be able to help the DPHT work through this donation. However all credits have to go to my late mother, she passed away at the beginning of 2024. In 2019 I retired my Shetland pony driving pair and decided my next pair should be Dartmoor. I contacted the DPHT and you put me in touch with Verity at Peekhill farm. Because of the Brexit threat we had to move quickly and in September 2019 me and my mother travelled to Dartmoor by car. We stayed in Yelverton and explored the moors. We met our Sherlock and Morse for the first time. And when my mother saw Sherlock there was an instant connection between the two of them. Now my mother had no choice but to become a horsey person. Sherlock and Morse moved to the Netherlands in Oktober 2019 and soon after arriving Sherlock would recognize my mothers car coming up the drive and would wait by the gate to greet her. They were best friends.
We know the money will be well spend and we hope there will be Dartmoor ponies roaming the moors for many more years to come. We would love to visit and join you on a guided walk. We now own 2 Shetland and 3 Dartmoor ponies, so holidays are not easy to organize. But it is definitely on the to-do list.”
From Chair of the DPHT – we would love to welcome you to Dartmoor and organise both a walk and a tour around one or two of the multi-generational herds resident on Dartmoor. Thank you again for your support – it makes a big difference to the charity.
