Help please! Conservation volunteers!

The Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust is looking for volunteers to help clear a bronze age village and other buildings on Lakehead at Bellever Forest near Postbridge this month. Work is taking place on Saturday 11th and Saturday 25th February. Krapps Rings is becoming overgrown by grass and needs a ‘haircut’ so that the old village walls can be seen again and other buildings nearby will need some ‘re-finding’ work to make them easier for the public to enjoy!

We shall meet in the car park in Bellever Forest at the Postbridge end of the woods at 10am. We plan to finish by 3pm. Please bring food and drink for the day and gardening gloves and wear old, tough, waterproof clothes. We will supply all the tools you will need and promise a friendly, energetic day, with tasks suitable for people with a variety of skills and fitness, and a chance (hopefully) to meet our pony herd and certainly make a difference to our amazing Moorland site.

If you can help please contact Paul Rendell, email paul.dartmoor@virgin.net or call him on 01837 54727.

For further information about all our work on Dartmoor, or a free guided walk at Bellever, please call the Centre on 01626 833234 or email: admin@dpht.co.uk
