Always fantastic to get onto Bellever and meet our guides hard at work for the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust. Connecting young people with Dartmoor provides so many opportunities for children to have fun whilst exploring and learning. Bob Adamson had prepared a simple navigation exercise for his young children from Copplestone Primary.
Whilst Geri Skeens concentrated on ponies, people and place. When l caught up with her group of pupils from Bovey Tracey Primary, they all understood the benefits of pony grazing and were enthusiastic about pony poo and how it helped keep lizards and birds on site. The group had seen an adder during their walk. How exciting! This group of students was the second of six over the next few weeks to visit Bellever on our Co-op Community Fund initiative for outreach learning.
