Our mission is to secure the future of the native Dartmoor Pony on Dartmoor in partnership with pony keepers and stakeholders. To achieve this, we deliver innovative education and conservation opportunities to enhance awareness, understanding and appreciation of Dartmoor’s landscape, biodiversity, archaeology and heritage.

By joining the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust, you will be helping to conserve the critically endangered Dartmoor Pony. Without support from people like you, we couldn’t protect these beautiful and invaluable ponies for future generations.

We rely on grants, donations, legacies, fundraising and income from membership to keep doing the work we do, delivered almost entirely by volunteers to keep costs to an absolute minimum.

Working with key partners is vital to our aims. We work with:

• Local keepers and breeders of the Dartmoor Pony
• Conservation bodies such as the RSPB, National Trust and Wildlife Trusts – to help us place ponies for conservation grazing
• The Rare Breed Survival Trust – to ensure their involvement in conserving the Dartmoor Pony
• The National Equine Welfare Council and many other equine organisations
